Happy Birthday... To Us!

This Saturday 21st March brings with it our 4th birthday! It seems like only yesterday that we were celebrating our last birthday with you, so decided to take a look back at the last 12 months at VE HQ…

Victoria spent a busy Summer 2014 designing, and in the autumn we were delighted to unveil three new ranges; Baking Delight, Welsh Dinner and Christmas Delights. With baking fever gripping the nation thanks to Queen Mary of Berry and the Great British Bake Off, our bright and beautiful Baking range was off to a great start. Buoyed up by the great reaction of our #VEfamily to the new ranges, we set about expanding those that you loved the most into even more fun products.

This past year saw the English, Scottish and Welsh Dinner ranges grow into mugs, with the addition of Cockney Rhyming Slang bags, a full range of greetings cards, gift wrap and a new size of hand printed screen prints. Victoria also spent time embarking upon bespoke projects. We loved seeing a bit of VE style bringing designs for the Birmingham Symphony Hall and the Bay Fish & Chip Shop to life. And just between you and I, there may be more appearing soon. But sssh! Keep that one under your hat.

When we weren’t busy dreaming up lots of new bits and bobs for you, we were busy appearing in all sorts of places for the first time. We were delighted to add West Elm on Tottenham Court Road to our list of stockists, and Asian distributer Beauterama saw lots of Victoria Eggs goodies head out to stockists in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Macau.

As if that wasn’t enough, we spent Christmas 2014 joining up with our baking buddies, Bake with Maria for festive merriment and undertook the mammoth task of preparing ourselves for our first overseas tradeshow; Maison & Objet. Paris was incredibly good fun (and of course a lot of hard work), but we returned to the UK excited to take part again this September, and with a plethora of new international business buddies.

Topping off the last twelve months, was Victoria’s Alma Mater, Birmingham City University presenting her with the accolade of Alumni of the Year. They celebrated the achievements of BCU’s most successful students, and Victoria was thrilled to be honoured with the award for ‘Enterprise and Innovation’. A keen interest was taken by BCU in Victoria’s commitment to British business and manufacturing. As all our #VEfamily know, made in Britain isn’t just our tagline, it’s our belief.

So thanks to each and every one of you for another fantastic year, without you it really wouldn’t be the same.
